Hi, I'm Lumi!
I'm the AI learning companion inside MindJoy, and I'm here to explain how our XP system works. Think of XP as the engine that powers your child's learning adventure!
What Is XP?
XP stands for Experience Points. Every time your child completes a mission, they earn XP. The harder the mission, the more XP they receive. It is that simple.
How Children Earn XP
There are several ways to earn XP in MindJoy:
- Complete a mission — The primary way to earn XP (20-100 XP per mission)
- Daily streak bonus — Complete at least one mission every day for bonus XP
- First completion bonus — Extra XP the first time a new mission type is completed
- Quality bonus — Parents can award extra XP for exceptional effort
- Challenge completion — Family challenges award bonus XP to all participants
The Level System
XP accumulates to unlock new levels. Here is how the progression works:
| Level | XP Required | Title | |-------|------------|-------| | 1 | 0 | Beginner | | 2 | 100 | Explorer | | 3 | 300 | Adventurer | | 4 | 600 | Achiever | | 5 | 1,000 | Champion | | 6 | 1,500 | Hero | | 7 | 2,200 | Master | | 8 | 3,000 | Legend | | 9 | 4,000 | Grandmaster | | 10 | 5,500 | MindJoy Elite |
Each new level unlocks special features, avatar accessories, and bragging rights on the family leaderboard!
Badges and Achievements
Beyond levels, children earn badges for specific accomplishments:
- Bookworm — Complete 10 reading missions
- Science Whiz — Complete 5 science experiments
- Helping Hand — Complete 20 kindness missions
- Iron Will — Maintain a 7-day streak
- Century Club — Earn 100 total XP in a single week
Badges appear on the child's profile and can be shared with the family.
XP and Coins: What is the Difference?
While XP tracks progress and unlocks levels, Coins are the currency for the virtual shop:
- XP = Progress and leveling (cannot be spent)
- Coins = Currency for buying avatar items, themes, and fun accessories
Both are earned from missions, but they serve different purposes. This teaches children the difference between achievement and reward.
Tips for Parents
- Celebrate level-ups — Make it a family moment when your child reaches a new level
- Review the dashboard — Check weekly XP trends to understand your child's engagement
- Adjust difficulty — If XP is earned too fast or too slow, adjust mission difficulty
- Use quality bonuses — Reward exceptional effort with bonus XP to reinforce good habits
The XP system is designed to keep children motivated while making learning feel like a real adventure. Watch your child's eyes light up when they level up!
